Georg Chmiel is Chairman of Juwai, the largest online marketplace for overseas properties in China. He is also Chairman of iCarAsia (ASX:ICQ), the number 1 online automotive marketplace for Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia and non-executive Director of Centrepoint Alliance (ASX:CAF).
Georg was previously Managing Director and CEO of the iProperty Group (ASX:IPP) before it was sold to REA Group for over US$530m. Georg was also non executive Director of Mitula Group (ASX:MUA) before it got acquired by Lifull (2120:Tokyo) and Managing Director and CEO of LJ Hooker Group with 700 offices across nine countries providing residential and commercial real estate as well as finance services. Georg also held the position of CFO and General Manager International at REA Group and was instrumental in building a solid platform for expansion which allowed the group to grow exponentially. Georg has over 25 years of experience in the real estate and financial service industry. With companies such as Deutsche Bank and McKinsey & Company, Georg has also built his expertise in the area of strategy, innovative technologies, distribution and corporate finance with a clear focus on growth companies and disruptive technologies.
Georg is the recipient of the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award in 2016 and the Top Outstanding Leaders Asia Award in 2015. Georg is a CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds an MBA (INSEAD, France) and a Computer Science degree.
