YONG began his entrepreneurial journey with a rallying call, “No Wall Left Naked”. Since then, Korea Wallpaper has succeeded in setting up an unparalleled wallpaper trend in Malaysia.
In March of 2017, YONG, together with Sin Chew Media Corporation Bhd and a group of Malaysian and Bruneian entrepreneurs, embarked on a new venture, CO3 Social Office. CO3 is Malaysia’s leading coworking space, aiming to democratise inspiring work spaces for all and redefine work life balance.
Since its inception, CO3 emphasizes the core values of ‘COnnectivity’, ‘COllaboration’, and ‘COmmunity’. Providing much more than just innovative work spaces, Red Dot Campus was established, part of an initiative by CO3 to democratize ideas, talents, and capital.
Extending his belief in creating leaders (known as reddots), YONG is one of the pioneering mentors of Red Dot Campus, which as of April 2018, also encompasses reddotX- a USD 25.0 million seed fund with the goal of incubating 1,000 reddots in the span of 3 years.
Championing the tagline “Fly Without Wings” which embodies courage and determination to achieve the impossible, YONG and his team believe in empowerment as a catalyst of development and change. With focus on bringing the best of hardware, software, and ‘heartware’, doing all they can to bring opportunities on all fronts to everyone.
